Project ISAAC (Improving Student Achievement, Advancing Communities) is an after-school program funded by the West Virginia Department of Education and a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant.  Our program is coordinated by North Central Regional Education Service Agency (RESA VII)  staff.

West Milford's after-school program operates on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.  Third, fourth, and fifth grade students attend daily.  Second grade students attend on Tuesdays only.

All students are offered a daily snack and have a 30-minute quiet study time when help with homework is given.

Reading and math tutoring are offered daily for all grades.  All students also have recreation daily.

The following enrichment classes are offered weekly:  Explorations, Hands-on Science, Drama, Chess, Art, 4-H, Sign Language and Fine Arts.

Family Fun Night was held on Thursday, March 1, 2007.  Students and their parents (and sometimes brothers and sisters) competed in board games and an obstacle course.  Michelle Douglass and Kimberly Bolyard from the FBI provided fingerprinting, and Aleta Stout from the United Hospital Center provided an informative (and very attractive) wellness display.  We ended the evening with gifts (books, journals, and pens) and healthful desserts.
